The Chocolate Church Arts Center is a truly unique place. Year-round, we offer modestly priced, unforgettable music, theatre, and dance events, and provide a beautiful gallery open to the public for free.
But it’s more than that. CCAC is a community arts organization. Through our programming and partnerships, we seek to engage all members of our community in as many ways as possible. We change lives, and we make this a better place to live and visit. And we can’t do it without your help.
At CCAC, you can experience Grammy award-winning performers on our main stage. The list of musicians from across the world who have entertained audiences here includes legends like David Bromberg, Suzanne Vega, George Winston, Noel Paul Stookey, and Melanie. But we also showcase and foster the talent of our regional up-and-coming musicians and visual artists. We produce community theatre productions that provide a creative outlet and a chance to learn and make lifelong friendships for people of all ages.
We also work hard to preserve and protect our building, a cherished hub in Bath’s historic downtown since 1847.

CCAC is run by a small and committed staff and a dedicated Board of Trustees with the incredible help of over 100 hard-working volunteers.
Sixty percent of what we do is paid for through membership and donations, sponsorship, and grant support. Your financial support is essential to the sustainability and growth of the Chocolate Church Arts Center. We operate under 3 Guiding Principles:

Partnering with local organizations:
CCAC supports the community by producing and hosting fundraising events to benefit local initiatives. During the past several years we have helped raise more than $10,000 combined for the local food bank, women’s club and for a local family facing a devastating illness. We regularly partner with our friends at Main Street Bath and Studio Theatre of Bath to plan cultural events in Bath. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Community Book provided a cathartic outlet for our region’s creators.

What is the difference between becoming a member and being a donor?
Members are sustaining supporters, and a big part of the CCAC family. A strong membership helps CCAC to be a sustainable organization, and helps us to secure grant funding. Membership benefits are designated depending on the level of support.
Donations are tax deductible and go directly to operational support. They do not come with any membership benefits.

The Chocolate Church Arts Center (CCAC) was incorporated and received 501(3)(c) status in 1977, and has over the ensuing decades exercised its dual mission of presenting graphic, visual, and performing arts to midcoast Maine while preserving and protecting its home, the former Central Church built in 1847.
